The name Ehime literally means ‘lovely princess.’ This name can be found as far back as the national myths of the Kojiki (the Record of Ancient Matters). Located in northwestern Shikoku, Ehime is blessed with abundant natural and cultural features. These are typified by the beautiful islands dotting the Seto Inland Sea, the striking saw-tooth coastline on the Uwa Sea, Mt. Ishizuchi, the highest peak in western Japan, and the hospitality enjoyed by those who make the Shikoku Pilgrimage.
Furthermore, we can be proud of our manufacturing technology and of our many Ehime-brand products, which stand out in Japan by exemplifying the slogan “made with love in Ehime.”
I am determined to maintain a proactive attitude while focusing my efforts on developing Ehime’s underlying potential, and building a local community based on mutual support-“Ehime, overflowing with expressions of love.”
I hope many people will visit our website and enhance their understanding of our prefecture. Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated.
