7Purify the island and your heart with “Clean Hiking” (Gogoshima Island)

Enjoy the natural beauty of Gogoshima Island while picking up garbage. You can purify the island and your mind at the same time

On this program, you hike along the coasts and roads of Gogoshima Island in the comfortable season, picking up rubbish as you go. By the roadside are stone Buddhas, shrines, and flowers planted by local people, and you can come to understand the spirit of the island as you walk. Tamura-san says it’s very hard to lead adults who are enjoying a taste of freedom, and everybody apparently has fun in their own way.
